Stillness
It takes the Winding Path to Reach the Still Water.
In this collection it's the background that pulls this body of work together. Without the subtle, almost abstract, simplicity of the background the focal point would not be forefront.
To achieve this simplicity was anything but, it took all my previous collections and techniques and the bringing together of my love of resin work and fabric dyeing, both teaching me they can be manipulated while still finding their own path. Restraint in the many layers combined with the intentional minimal palette brings forth the textures and play between details which is why love being an artist.
This collection is a stillness I've never achieved before and hope to push even further.
I hope you enjoy the collection as much as I did creating it.
I work in acrylic mediums delving into mixed media. My layering techniques are a diverse form of brushwork, dripping, pooling, splattering and palette knife work. This collection is focused on texture, bringing out a natural earthy feeling.
I am inspired by the essence of the Kimberley and rugged wild beauty of Australia.
I always paint from emotion, capturing the ambience of the moment..
